Olimpijski Festival
While doing sightseeing in Ljubljana I saw them setting up a whole load of tents and things in Kongresni Trg (Congress Square), from looking around it was a Slovenian Olympic Festival happening on the Saturday and Sunday. Cool, one of my sightseeing days so I thought I'd go scope out what it was all about.

After looking at the Spar to see what they had for my purchases for the next day, I got to the festival and found out more. It was more for kids but anyone could do it. There were 42 stands, kinda one for each sport/activity, you had to visit each and then do the activity and get a stamp. After 20 you'd get 1 prize and after 40 (of the 42) you would get the final prize. There was also something if you handed the card in at the end for a family draw for something or another (I never bothered doing that as I wouldn't be around to get or have whatever it was)

So then my morning of fun started acting like a kid. I was there from just before 10am until about 12:45pm so it filled a nice part of the day. I tried to do all events that I could, some like rhythmic gymnastics and some others I didn't do as wasn't really for me (although I know some of you will have loved to have seen those pics), I got the stamps though as they weren't that strict about giving them out. By the end I couldn't find what event I was missing so 41 of 42 was pretty darn good I thought, and it got me the final prize (pic later). At about 2:45pm the heavens opened and sadly for the organizers things closed down at the festival for the day. I think the Sunday weather was OK in the morning at least so the festival would have been able to carry on.

Did the BMX activity, you can see how low the saddle is, so you had to stand up (that's not just me saying it, they told me that), but then I was concentrating so much on balance I forgot about the brakes and slowing down as you will see at the end of the video

I was super chuffed with the Foksi plushie I got at the end. Makes a really nice momento from the event and from my stay in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
