After a great time in Dubrovnik and on my entire holiday in general it was time to make the long trip home. Thankfully this didn't include any super long layovers. My flights had enough gap between them incase of any delays (and there were a few)
After my Mt Srd hike I was tired so didn't bother doing any packing that evening. I knew I had ample time the next morning to do that. I woke up and got my suitcase packed. By this time it was 7:45ish. I decided to pop out to go to Pile Sandwich Shop to get a sub so that I could have half it for brunch. I got there and waited, the sign on the door said it opened at 8am. The guy working inside saw me waiting outside looking at 8:05am and gestured it only opens at 9am. But but but the sign says 8am. Couldn't argue, it is what it is. Damn - that plan was out. I went past a bakery and got myself a pastry for breakfast and would get something later for lunch.
I was now thinking what to do. I didn't really feel like getting going on any more sightseeing so I just decided to get on my way. I had already scoped out the best and easiest way to the airport bus stop, which was where the cable car station was. I headed there. Took about 20min to walk there and then I just relaxed and waited on the next bus. I caught the 9:15am Airport shuttle bus (it gets to the stop 15min later as that time is from the main bus station). I had earmarked that the one an hour later would be best time wise. I wasn't too worried about leaving earlier than planned. It was once again a pretty cool bus trip, nice scenery almost all the way to the airport. Got to the airport at about 10am. My flight was only 3hrs later. Check in opened 2hrs before that so I just sat and used the free wifi and streamed some sport I had missed out on.
For the first leg home I had to check and collect my bag as it wasn't part of the larger international ticket I had bought. That wasn't a big problem to do, was all smooth.

Boarding plane from Zagreb to Zurich
The 2 flights to get to Zurich had slightly delays, the one from Zagreb to Zurich was delayed by about 35 minutes, some people were panicing big time about making connecting flights. Luckily I had enough padding that it wasn't a problem. I was able to check my bag all the the way from Zagreb to Cape Town as well as check in for all those flights. The flight back to Cape Town was a 2-4-2 layout again, unfortunately they could only give me a seat in the middle of the 4 section. That would suck !! The guy said to check when I got to Zurich if I can change it. I did that and thankfully they were able to move me to an isle seat on one of the 2's, so that was good.

I'm sure people were looking at me thinking "why is this guy filming his inter terminal train ride" ... well cause it was super novel for me to do something like that. I'm from deep Africa.

I'm back on South African soil (well ... concrete)
South African passport control was super smooth, I was at the counter and through in under 5 minutes so that was pretty impressive. Headed to the parking/eHailing area and ordered my Bolt and headed home. Was nice to get home after being away, my bonsai and other plants were glad to see me for some water.

Welcome to the Mother City aka Cape Town aka Home !!!
