My Zadar to Split bus was one of the longer ones I'd be taking, it was 3h 30min, still not too bad really, with the scenery the bus trip fell way shorter than that. When I got to the bus station I saw another FlixBus to Split (which would only take about 2hrs) so thought let me see if I can get that. I could have, but would have cost me more than my original ticket to change it, so sod that. Looking back maybe it went quicker via a freeway/internal route vs how mine went, but I liked the scenery on mine so was quite fine with what I had.

We stopped at Šibenik and had about a 25min break so that was nice to have a quick look around.

We got into Split at 1:45pm and by 2:15pm I was all settled into my accommodation. After a short break I was out and about sightseeing again. I had the rest of this day to do the sightseeing and then I had a day trip planned and then had the following day to do more.

The Riva Promenade in Split is where you can find restaurants and masses of people. It is right next to the harbour (not an industrial type harbour, but more just the seaside) and very picturesque.

Split has a lot of Roman ruins all over, but its quite hard to keep track of where you are as there are all little walkways and the ruins have just been built around. I think I managed to see most of the things I want to.

On my full day in Split I decided to do a long walk in Marjan Pak up to Telegrin Peak and then a new viewpoint and around to some beaches. I followed the numbers (I added) to the photo below. Below point 3 there were some switchbacks I needed to follow to get down from the height I had got to from earlier. I then walked from 3 to the left to the far end and then back towards 4 (Bene Beach). After that I walked towards 5 and back to town.

I was reading that the new observation tower opened on the 7 September 2024, I'm not sure if there was something there before or what exactly. Cool perfect timing to open ... a month before I "needed" to use it. It was free to go up but I'm sure they will maybe charge down the line.

I decided to head towards Bene Beach for a swim, was supposed to be a really nice beach, it was.

There was a big yacht charter show when I was in Split called the CROYA Charter Show, wandered around and had a look around there at the amazing superyachts. Not allowed onto any of course, not for me anyway.

When I went to dinner the one evening I saw some cats and their houses, speaking to the person at the restaurant, all the local restaurants/businesses help to feed and look after the cats. That's nice. They were fast asleep when I came past after dinner.
