Zadar

It was drizzling when I left my hotel at Plitvice, the hotel dropped myself and a few other people off at the bus stop as we were all checking out and wanting to go there. The bus came not long after and I was on my way. The bus stopped in Zadar but was carrying on to Split so you had to put your luggage in a certain place guess to make it easier for those only doing half the bus journey. Bus ride was under 2hrs, so pretty quick.

From Wikipedia: Monument to the Sun or The Greeting to the Sun (Croatian: Pozdrav suncu) is a monument in Zadar, Croatia dedicated to the Sun. It consists of a 22-meter diameter circle representing the Sun, with three hundred, multi-layered glass plates placed on the same level as the stone-paved waterfront, with photovoltaic solar modules underneath. Lighting elements installed in the circle turn on at night and produce a light show. Smaller circles represent the planets. The monument symbolizes communication with nature, communicates with light, while the nearby Sea organ communicates with sound. The monument to the Sun and the Sea organ were both designed by Croatian architect Nikola Bašić.

The Sea Organ in Zadar is really cool to see, well - more to hear. It is an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps.

In the afternoon I headed to Přístavní Molo pier where I just hung around and waiting for the sunset.

On Saturday morning I headed to City Galleria, I really just wanted to check out the Spar and any other shops for food options for later in the day. Was a quick 10min walk to get there not far at all, about 600m.

I got there to find it was their birthday and was a promo happening. Asked the one organiser lady about it and she said you had to spend €10 at any shop then you could spin the wheel to win a prize. She also gave me 2 free coffee vouchers - cool !! I wasn't likely to maybe spend that much (not right then anyway, maybe later in the day), so I just wandered around the center checking it out, and also keeping one eye on the ground or on coffee shop tables for any slips that people dropped/left behind. In no time I had a tillslip so I was down to the spin wheel. I won a shoulder bag, which I used quite a bit on my holiday and also a coffee mug.

Looked around a bit more and found this photo booth thing that you could put on all sorts of getups and then it would take a series of pics. So ... I always like to do things like that so I was there getting my photos.

I now felt like a coffee, so found the coffee shop that was doing the promotion and had a nice coffee. While sitting there I eyeballed 3 guys at the next table who looked to have ordered a decent bit so waited for them to leave then grabbed their till slip and I was on my way back downstairs for another spin.

This spin proved to be way better than the 1st one, it landed on the gift card. I then got to pull an envelope out of a box and ... whooohooo - I won €15 voucher (3*€5) that I could spend at any store in the center. That was perfect, food (well the cost thereof) was now sorted for my next day travels. I went back later in the day and used my 2nd coffee voucher then did my shopping (will show what I got in the Zadar food post)

There was a Croatian Lotteries (Hrvatska lutrija) promotion next to the Roman Forum, wasn't much to see really, they weren't giving anything away, you could buy lottery tickets though, which I wasn't keen to do, if you bought you could win a prize but nothing overly great so didn't even bother trying. Just sat in the Roman Forum and listened to the music for a while and then did the one promo thing.
